Psoriasis treatment

Psoriasis is such a common problem it deserves a page to itself! While a definitive cure is still a little way off, the new Multiclear treatment was so good we decided to invest in this new technology.

Multiclear is useful for patients with limited and stable Psoriasis covering up to 30% of their body area. It is also good for stubborn lesions that have not responded to other treatments.

A course of treatments is required, depending on the extent of the problem. They last a few minutes and you can go back to work immediately afterwards.

The Multiclear procedure uses a patented band of UVB light and directs it at small, specific places on your body, like shining a torch on the skin. The waves of light decrease the proliferation of skin cells (keratinocytes) in the epidermis, and also the inflammation that's occurring in the dermis.

The results are quick to see, but there will be some redness at the same time. This is usually pain free and appears 24 hours after. Sometimes a slight sunburn occurs. The redness will generally subside in 3-5 days.

Because the Multiclear procedures is directed only at the parts of the skin that need it, rather than full body exposure, it is considered safer to healthy skin. Obviously excessive UV light exposure should be avoided. Treatments are quick and the results compare better than other treatments we have used in the past.
