Treatment for excessive sweating (Hyperhydrosis)

Now you can stop the embarrassment, hassle and expense of excessive sweating (hyperhydrosis). Current treatment options for excessive sweating include:

Iontophoresis
The Iontophoresis device is a machine that sends out an electrical current through a water buffer to the pores of your skin. Mild electrical currents cause a temporary plug to develop in the sweat duct. This is a painless treatment that gives up to six weeks of dryness. This procedure is performed at home. It is best suited for excessive sweating on the hands and feet. For more information on where to purchase an iontophoresis machine, please contact us.

Botulinum Toxin Type-A (Dysport)
Dysport is a purified form of Botulinum toxin. This product has been used for over 20 years to treat muscle spasms and soften facial wrinkles. This is the best treatment for underarm sweating with over 80% reduction in sweating for more than 9 months. Dysport works by blocking the nerve signal that causes sweat production. Tiny amounts of Dysport are injected into the armpit area. There is minimal discomfort during this 20 minute procedure and no recovery time needed. Surgery
Endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy cuts the nerves inside the chest that control sweating. It is very successful for palmar sweating (hands), but not as effective for armpit sweating. Compensatory sweating (sweating in other areas) occurs in about 30% of patients. Very few procedures are done in the public system; most commonly this is a private surgical procedure costing in excess of $8,500.
